Hey sorry this post is gonna be in Danish cause I was writing to my mum and decided to post it here as well… it’s about the Danish Eurovision songs competing on saturday…
sang 3: God sang! også meget Coldplay/Kings of Leon/One Republic inspireret.
sang 4: Den her sang er røvsyg!
Been back for a little over a week and it’s just been about what january is ALWAYS about: exams! Booooooh!
We handed in our Dissertation Research Proposals this friday which was a weigth off everybody’s shoulder! I still can’t understand that they expect us to know all those things about a paper we’re handing in in 8 months… But I got through it, and yes I admit that it helped me get some perspective of what I want to do…
Now we’re revising for an unseen exam we have on thursday. It’s a multiple choice and two essays in two hours. One essay on Globalisation and the music business and one about the relationship between majors and indies. So it should be manageable…after that we have about two weeks to write a paper about an artist of our choice. There’s probably more to it than that but I’ll figure it out once I get to it!
Today I woke up at 10.30 and though “well it’s sunday it’s ok, I’ll just lay here for a bit more” and then I woke up again at 12! I’m turning into a bear because it’s winter… So I decided to go for a walk because the sun was shining and the sky was blue. So I walked to Archway station turned left and walked to Tufnell Park station and then left again and ended up on Holloway Road again. Nice little 45mins walk. Now I need to get started on my revising… or maybe just ONE episode of Will & Grace ;)
My New Years resolution is to get out and do more and fully make use of the time I have in London… live in the now… Before I know I’ll be back in good, old and slightly boring Aarhus again, and I don’t want to end up regretting that I didn’t get to do enough while I was here! And speaking of living in the now I have to stop planning so much… It’s fine that I make plans, but in my head I’m always a week ahead and that needs to change, cause it’s very stressfull… So wish me luck :oP
So hopefully that means that I will have more stuff to write about here! If I ever get around to doing it haha
Wow time just flies by right now!
We’ve been so busy at Uni after we got back from China! We had two presentations and I had to get all my xmas shopping done :) I’m proud to say that I survived the Oxford Street experience haha also had time to get screwed over by a guy… we had a really good week and it seemed to be going really well but then I went to China and when I got back he randomly stopped texting me back… really mature! I don’t know wtf I did! Fastest encounter followed by being blown off I’ve ever experienced! Pretty crazy… so fyi guys suck no matter where you go in the world! :S but fuck that I don’t have time for guys anyway!
Right now I’m starting the packing session and I’m having a farewell Chinese take-away dinner with my roommate Bahare and then I’m off to Denmark tomorrow afternoon! I’m so looking forward to going home by now and I’m ready for all the xmas celebrations and seeing my family and friends!
It’s crazy how many really good friends I have here already though! I’m already dreading the day that I have to go back to DK for good! It’s gonna be so sad! I could have easily stayed here and not felt alone at christmas and New Years, but of course I’d rather go home for christmas!
So yeah some busy weeks ahead trying to see everybody and we have to hand in our Dissertation Research proposal on january 9th! So I have to work on that too!
Well, I better get packing… I want to have time for one last trip to the gym tomorrow and I’m thinking of going to Primark in Wood Green for one last attempt to find a dress or something for new years… haven’t had any luck or much time until now…
Laters!
Oh wow kind of forgot that Tumblr existed there for a bit and then I was like “well can I just randomly start writing again?” and yes I can cause it’s my page and my rules haha
Anyway been very busy with uni and meeting new friends and hanging out with the “old” ones.
We have a lot of assignments to do for uni! I just did a presentation on the Danish music business and now (well not now - needed a break) I’m working on a paper where I need to critique 2 articles and their research methods… v. boring, but I guess it’s all to prepare us for writing a dissertation. and we also have a group presentation on XL Records and Adele and we need to make som kind of poster brainstorm thing for our dissertation research proposal.. strikes me as a bit primary schoolish…
Oh and we’re going to China for a week next tuesday! That’s gonna be awesome! :Dand Edu-tourims trip as they call it… just had out last meeting today… Loved that fact that the lady coming ith us said “oh and remember you’ll sleep on the flight there and on the flight home an none in between” haha sounds like a challenge ;)
Our house is getting pretty fucking cold and it’s only gonna get worse the next 3-4 months so that’s gonna be terrible!!!!.. just bought a lot of candles at Morrisons and hope they will help me stay warm! I-WILL-NOT-BE-SICK-WHEN-WE-GO-TO-CHINA!!!!!!!!
Since the last time I wrote my Panda from home has been to visit Tess and me… that’s Sandra if anyone didn’t know ;)we had a lot of fun and it was really good seeing her again!
I’m really beginning to look forward to christmas… have been for maybe a couple of weeks, because over here there are already christmas lights and decorations everywhere! I love it :) and I’m going home for christmas and new years so can’t wait to se my mum and dad and all my friends! yay!! :D
anyway, better get back to work on the stupid paper… but before that I’m lighting a million candles! Laters!
Feeding squirrels in Hyde Park with Bettina :D
I guess you’ve settled somewhere when you don’t have time to update your blog-thingy that often ;) Oh and I got a TV, so now I’ll never be bored again. Watching the X Factor! It’s brilliant! Here in the UK everyone including the ones that left at the judges houses adn even the ones before that are better than the ones who win in Denmark. It crazy! But I gotta say I love Frankie ;) He’s a little star in the making…
First week at uni went well, seems like I’ve got my work cut our for me! We’re already doing presentations in 4 weeks time that will count for 30% of our exams! :S YIKES! So I’ve got a lot of reading to do… and to find out what to read, cause that’s basically up to me :S
And then it feels like every time I look away 50 people write to the support mail for DiGiDi! Give me a break you guys! ;) Of course it’s nice to have work, but I’m so busy… hope I’ll get in to a routine of doing a little bit every day or every other day so it won’t be so overwhelming when I finally check the email….
The weekend hasn’t been that succesful club-wise… Friday I had dinner at Amandas and then we went to the Rocket but they apperently have these Urban DJ nights every friday! Note to self: don’t go to the Rocket on fridays! And they made us Mojitos with no sugar and lemons instead of lime… OMG it’s probably the worst drink I’ve ever had, I couldn’t even finish it! Then we decided to go to Big Red cause there they would at least have good music, but there were so many people that they only let people with stamps in. So we gave up and went home. Saturday we were supossed to go to this fancy club Amika because Clemens is a promoter for the place (read: his JOB is to gather big groups and take them to the club where they get in for free and get a table with free drinks in the VIP area). But they didn’t let us in because the group was too big… six people! And they were SO rude I’ve never experienced anything like it in my life! And Clemens was so pissed! Aparently the other promoters had similar problems which is very strange… So we walked around for a bit and then had a drink in a pub called the Prince of Wales or something like that and then went home (40mins busride!) The fancy club thing has never and will never be my scene, so I was really just going to experience what it’s like, but this definitely did it for me. I’ll never want to go to those kinds of clubs again. They can’t be that fantastic with such bitches calling the shots….
Today Tess, Amanda and I went to the Coronet and had steaks and chips and then we went to my house to watch the X Factor results and hang out… very cosy. Now I’m going to bed cause I have class at 9am tomorrow… Research methods… Gaaaaaah… my least favourit class by far!
Phew this weekend was a tough one… but in a good way :) The weather has been absolutely amazing… like being on holiday! No clouds and 28 degrees! So I’ve been to Waterlow Park almost everyday except for friday when I had my enrollment! Of course I had trouble paying my tuition fee because the amount was so big but thankfully they let me complete the enrollment if I promised to transfer the money asap!
Then friday night we had a Danish party at Tess’ with Pelle, Amanda and Ifetas sister Ena and her friend :) We went 90’s crazy at home and then went to The Monarch in Camden where they had an 90s Night! It was a nice place but it was SO HOT!! When they were closing up we went to Pelles house for a bit and then home.
Saturday Tess and I had and Ol’ English Breakfast at the Amazon Café where they had this nice little backgarden where you could sit and they had some kind og south African parrot that was hilarious! :) at night I went to Purple Turtle by Mornington Cresent to meet up with Louise who I went to primary school with and went to a 80’s Metal koncert with both new bands and actual bands from the 80’s (Eliminator, Dark Forrest, Whitchfynde and Satan). The last band was these really cool old guys! :) When the concert finished I went to Pelles house shortly but both me and Tess were tired so we ended up at my house and watched Twilight - the Eclipse… or I did, Tess fell asleep and ended up sleeping over.
So today we… went to the park and were joined by Jara, the German girl I met on the first day and in the evening Pelle, Tess and I went to Wether Spoon and had steaks and fries :) Yum! Not the last time I’ve visited that place!
Tomorrow is my first actual day at uni so I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes! I’m meeting up with Carly (USA) and Maria (Bulgaria) from my class outside the towerbuilding so we have eachother if or when we get lost looking for the room of our class! Tomorrow it’s “Research Methods for the Creative Industries and Sports”… hope it’s not boring :oP
Tonight i met up with a girl called Louise who I went to elementry school with and we haven’t seen each other since, and that’s like 10 years ago! So crazy. But she lives here 20mins walk from me in Finsbury Park so we met up for dinner and talked and talked and then we went for a pint at her local bar which had the most amazing atrium or what you call it.. it was three stories of staircases and cute little landings and it was filled with flowers everywhere. The entire facede was completely covered in plants and flowers as well. So cute! Definitly coming back! Of course I didn’t get the name, cause I’m like that!
Anyway.. We like the same kind of music (heavy and rock, even though I think she might be into the more heavier stuff than I am, but she’ll teach me :oP) and I ended up borrowing some books from her as well and I’m meeting her saturday for a concert which her boyfriend has arranged! :) So I’m very much looking forward to that! Oh, and as you can see in the picture I’m gonna post in a second, the rest of the week looks like it’s gonna be amazing here in London! YAAAAAAY! :D
